I had my latest adjustment in early January. We're still working on correcting the upper midline and closing the gap on the left side. He thinks by next month we can start closing the new gap in the middle (thank goodness!). I told him that I see the surgeon at the end of the month to see if they need to send any new info but he said he would speak with the surgeon after I see him. He said that he thinks I could have the surgery in March (I personally don't think the gaps will be closed) but he said the arch positions will stay the same so surgery can be any time now. I will be interested to hear the surgeon's opinion about the positions of my teeth and if I will be ready. From what I have read on other blogs most surgeons wait until the teeth are mostly aligned and gaps are closed then the ortho finishes things up.
I still have a very small gap on the bottom on one side too but hard to see in the pictures below.
Here are my pics from Jan 4th, still renovating our office which has delayed my post...
Central gap getting bigger to correct midline
This gap was originally 7mm, now only 1mm! Yippee!!
The gap on the left upper has nearly closed since these were taken.
Will post newer pics after my surgeon appt Jan 30th and ortho appt Feb 1st...
1mm gap left from lower extraction on right side of photo
Here's one of my family, instead of just teeth! Maybe next year I'll smile with my teeth showing!
:D Until next time!!
